The ox-drawn plow was invented in Ancient Egypt to help with farming. This invention uses the ox’s strength to pull the plow and loosen the soil faster and more easily that it would normally take by hand. This was an invention created hundreds of years ago, but a modified version is still used today. This is a very handy tool to help with farming.

Ancient Egyptian pyramids were primarily built as a tomb for Egyptian pharaohs and queens. They were simple when they were first invented, but as time and generations passed, the Egyptians got more creative. They added passageways and trapdoors. They set up traps to catch tomb robbers. There are around eighty pyramids from Ancient Egypt that are known today.

Unlike the Mesopotamians, who used carving tools to carve letters onto stone, the Egyptians used papyrus, a thin paper, and black ink. They mixed vegetable gum, soot, and bee wax to make their ink.

The shadoof is a hand-operated tool used to bring water up out of a well. The tool was a long wooden pole balanced on a small beam. The pole was attached to a bucket that was used to bring back water. It was very easy to use and without effort could lift 2,500 liters of water per day.
